How many falls can one girl take!

I tell ya....since this girl has learned how to move....it's nonstop!! Literally! She is nonstop from morning until bedtime. But one thing I wasn't prepared for is how they learn how to pull up, but they don't know how to get back down!

One of her favorite things to do now is to pull up on the glass doors at the front and the back door and then bang on it like she needs out!! hahaha. She acts like she's here against her will!! ;) But when he comes time to get down or when she gets tired...she just falls...backwards, forwards, sideways...which ever way gets her down and if I'm not RIGHT there, her poor head gets the brunt of it (or it seems like it!) It's killing me! I've been trying to show her how to get into a sitting position from standing, but she's not having it!! Bless her heart, surely she has to get the jift of it someday right?!!

8 MONTHS!!

I am not doing too well keeping up on my blogging. So this blog is going to contain a bunch of stuff at once!!
We ARE 8 MONTHS OLD!! My goodness gracious, the milestones that we achieved between 7 and 8 months!! The things she couldn't do a month ago, to the things we are doing now!!
Here is a picture of my little princess with her daddy. This was taken a couple of weeks ago while we were in Chicago!! She's such a blessing!

Here is a picture of her over the weekend while we were playing one morning!! I l-o-v-e a baby in just a diaper!! :)

And now to the 8 month milestones:
*She can say dada!
*She jibbers other stuff nonstop all the time!! It's finally not all a scream or a "oooo" but you can tell she's definately trying to tell me something!
*We still drink about 24 ounces of formula a day and eat about 3 jars of baby food a day. Plus a little apple juice and the gerber puffs are our favorite snack! :)
*She is a solid 10 1/2 hour sleeper at night, and sometimes 11 hrs if she's worn out!! I can't complain
*We got our two bottom teeth at the same time. They finally broke the gums on July 10th!! (thank God...we weren't sleeping too well right before that!)
*WE ARE CRAWLING!!! She did the belly/army crawl for the longest time and honestly, it did nothing but frustrate me b/c I knew she could get up on those legs!! hahaha. Us mommy's can push us harder than anyone!! But on August 3rd she finally went forward on all fours to get nothing else but a dog bone!! :) Here is a picture of her in action below!!
*She is pulling up on EVERYTHING!! I was washing bottles one day this weekend at the sink and she crawled up to me, grabbed ahold of my leg and I could tell she was trying to pull up, and after about a minute I turned and looked down and she was up on her feet!! I freaked out!! And of course she doesn't know how to get herself back down to the ground, so she just falls!! This is making me a nervous wreck! She's bumped her head more in the past 2 weeks than she has her whole life!
*She LOVES cords!! Cords to lamps, computers, fans...you name it, she wants it!! And now that she can crawl to these things...I've got to get creative!! This crawling stuff is bittersweet!!
And while I believe that's it for the 8 month milestones, I think that's enough for one month!! I don't think mommy can handle much more!! Her personality is just the greatest!! She so sweet and friendly and right now, she still has no problem holding her hands out for anyone to hold her!! She's a big flirt too with the boys!! :)

Look at that face, and those thighs!!! How could you know eat her up?!?! :)

7 months! (way late!)

And oh my goodness, we are 7 months old!!! Life is getting very fun!! This has to be the best stage for a baby (and mommy). She is into absolutely everything that she can reach, or is a short distance from!! She is discovering so many cool new things, and can sit with her toys and be content b/c she can do so many different things with them!! As for the mommy side, I love this stage b/c they enjoy toys, they can tell when something new is in front of them, they can actually move enough to play content by themselves for a few minutes and yet she still can't REALLY move far from where I put her!! It's perfect! :)
This little gal is enjoying life!! Her personality is great!! You can definately tell her moods! She is obssessed with being around a bunch of people, and loves doing new things!! This is her at a splash park in Chicago! She was not content watching all the other kids playing, she wanted down there in it too!! She smiled and laughed the whole time. And as always did a bunch of "oooooo" noises when her feet got wet!!

Her grandma Jo Jo got her a swing for outside, and boy was it a winner!! She stayed in that thing and giggled everytime it was coming back down towards us!! She loved it, she loved it so much she stayed in it until it put her to sleep!! :)

And as for the awesome things we are doing at 7 months, here are the things that I can think of currently:
*We finally broke the gums, with her two bottom teeth coming through at the SAME time!! I found those sharp things on July 11th when I picked her up from Jo Jo's.
*We have kinda backed off of a bottle a day, but not really in ounces. Instead of doing 4 bottles of 6 1/2 ounces, we are doing 3 8oz bottles a day. This seems to be doing her well. She's content, and they say that babies will let you know!!
*As for eating, it's a bottle first in the morning, a couple of hours later, some oatmeal and apple juice. Then early afternoon is another bottle. Then for supper a veggie and a fruit and more apple juice, and then a bottle at bedtime!
*We are working on the "ferber" method of slowly letting her console herself if she wakes up in her crib in the middle of the night. Whew, that's hard to be patient when it's 2am, but I think we are making progress!! I think it's also helping her naps during the day! She tends to wake up after about 30 minutes of nap, but lately, is able to go back to sleep without me having to go in there! :)
*She is SO close to crawling on all fours. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth. And right when she tries to move her legs, she just lays them straight back out and stays on her belly. But she definately still gets to where she needs to go even though she's flat on her belly. She can get from one side of the living room to the other on her belly (it might take 30 minutes, but....)...so we'll see if she ever even gets on all fours!
*We have found that we can enjoy going out to dinner with her because she is perfectly content in her highchair at a restaurant b/c she is completley ammused by the environment around her, that she doesn't even have time to think about being bored or being held. She smiles at everyone, and loves watching what all is going on. Much more thrilling than our livingroom!
*Teeny tiny finger foods that we put on her high chair she can now get into her mouth on her own. For a while she would just move them all around her tray, but that pincher grasp is slowly starting to work!! The sippy cup on the other hand, she still needs help! She can put it to her mouth but doesn't understand to tilt it or her head back! Practice makes perfect! :)
*Her babble is slowly starting to sound like she's trying to talk. The other night she laid on the floor and for about a minute it was nonstop, "dadadadadadadadadadadada". I know she didn't say it on purpose, but hopefully we are getting close! :) That was the first time it wasn't just a "ooooo" or "ahhhhh"
*We have discovered just recently that she is very ticklish!! She gets her belly laughs when we tickle her on the feet or under her chin!! Just another new thing we are learning about our princess! It never stops!
I think that's it!! In less than two weeks, she will be 8 months!! I just shake my head when I think about that!! So we'll be back!!

Happy Fathers Day! (Early)

WE LOVE SUMMER!! We go swimming, come home all greased up and strip down to our diaper and play some more!! :) I mean, this is the life...

I was so excited that Josh called yesterday and said that he had receieved his first fathers day gift from Jaycee when he picked her up from Daycare. I asked what it was, and he just said that I'd have to wait and see when I got home. He's such a proud daddy. He already had it on his nightstand by the time I got home and he said that is where it was going to stay! :) On the back of it, the teacher wrote, Happy Fathers Day! :)

She made the frame herself!! Her little fingers still had some blue on them!! Such an artist... :)

By far, better than any present I could have come up with!!

P.S.

I almost forgot to mention, that we are having to go do a pediatric opthamologist over her clogged tear duct that hasn't opened up. Dr. Hurlock mentioned them having to do a little short surgery where they take a probe into her tear duct to open it up!! (that made my stomach cringe). Anyways...we go on July 8th to that doctor!! So pray there is another solution! I'm sure it's one of those cases where she will do better than Mommy...

How in the world does 6 months go so fast!

I want to play Simon says with Time, and Simon says freeze!! How come when you're waiting for vacation to come, 6 months takes FOREVER, but when you want to keep your baby a little baby, 6 months flies by?!?! It's not fair! But enough with the pitty party right!?! 6 months is a really cool age for babies anyways, if i do say so myself and I know that miss Jaycee agrees. I mean you can't look much cooler than this:

We have definately been getting our swim on this summer!! The first time was horrible, and now, she will at least sit in the water and not cry. We haven't figured out that we can splash yet, but hopefully by the end of the summer, we will be a pro!

This is "her" spot. She likes to be in her float, leaned back in the shade, chewing on some links. It's the baby version of what we would call, sitting poolside with a margarita in hand! Aww, heaven!

So we went to the good ol' doctors appointment yesterday for her 6 month checkup; here are her current stats:

*She weighs 16 lbs 7 oz. That is the 60th percentile!

*She is 25 3/4 inches long. That is the 50th percentile!

*We are sitting up solo!! whoo hoo

*We are in size 3 diapers now. We are now cruisers instead of swaddlers!

*She drink 7 oz of formula 4 times a day with a nightly supper meal that includes one Level 2 vegetable and 1/2 of a level 2 fruit! :)

*She is now rolling over onto her belly in the crib and I will find her asleep on her stomach when I go in there. This just started 2 days ago. She has always slept on her side. I felt more comfortable with her on her side. :/

*If she is on her belly, she will pull those arms up and tuck those knees under her, but then she looks up at me like, "i don't know what to do with this now.." then she plummets. :)

*She has her days where I am the only one that can hold her and I am the only one that can make her stop crying. When we drop her off at the nursery at church, I now have to sneak out!

*I want to say that this child is into everything, but I know if i feel that way now, it's only going to get worse!! hahaha. But if it's in her reach...it's an option for her! She wants EVERYTHING and of course it's all suppose to be able to fit in her mouth! hahaha. She reaches and leans and stretches those arms for anything in site!

*She has been introduced to the sippy cup world. We know how to hold it, and where it's suppose to go (like everything else), but not a clue how to get the juice out. hahaha, we will get there! :)

Simon continues to say freeze......

Some new firsts! :)

I can't believe i'm actually blogging before my month is over! whoo hoo! :) We have been so INSANELY busy this month that I haven't exactly gotten just a good ol' close up picture of her, but i've got plenty of pictures of her exploring the world and trying new things! This Springer household has not stopped the past few weeks and this coming weekend is our FIRST weekend with nothing to do and no where to go, and we couldn't be more excited about it.

I'm guessing everyone has seen her professional pictures that I posted on facebook. Tara did such an excellent job with her. If anyone out there is looking for someone in the henderson/e'ville area, let me know, and she can get them done for you! Here is an example of her work:

This picture if one of my favorites. Completely looks like she's up to something that I don't know about! :)
I'll post a few things that have been a cool first for us this month!! I think I mentioned in the last post that I am JUST LOVING this age that she's in. They are so much fun! :)

This is dad and Jaycee. She doesn't look it here, but she LOVES riding on the golf cart, and of course that's my dads favorite thing to do with all the kiddos. Her and her lovely hair, actually had the wind blown look after they were done. Wish I would have gotten a picture of that! :)

Walker was so insanely jealous that we were on the golf cart and not him, but he enjoyed chasing it around and around!

This is a picture of Jaycee and Kendall. Kendall is one of my best friend's daughters. She will be a year old in July and is just so freaking cute. They are BFF's and don't even know it yet.
We had our first picnic last Friday and this is them hanging out on the blanket together. They had a good time. We also tried to get the girls in a baby pool that day. Darn it, I was so excited about the pool that I forgot to get a picture of her in her adorable bathing suit. And then no one got a picture of her trying the pool out b/c we were all so focused on getting her not to scream that the camera was the last thing in mind. It wasn't a kodak moment anyway, trust me.

And this is what happens when you eat prunes!! :) Can you see the back of her shirt?! I had a sneaky feeling this would happen, but it was the only "1st foods" she hadn't tried yet, so I had to give them a shot, and strangely enough, she loved them. This happened while I was down at my parents house over the weekend and I just screamed!! My mom and her friend, Tyra (shout out! ) and Josh all came running, while my sister didn't do anything but grab the camera! :)

And while I'm sure it was the cold water that she didn't like about the baby pool, I was wondering if it's b/c she bathes in her comfort bather and not sitting in the tub, so she's not used to be submerged (in that whole 2 inches) of water. So I have officially done away with the comfort bather and while I almost had her fall face first in the water, we have resulted to the large and in charge rubber ducky for bathtime! The beak even squeaks! We did much better in this thing. Let's hope this will help the transition into the baby pool. Mommy is determined....
